ॐ श्री गुरावे नमः !


Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra, Chant this Mantra for good health, particularly on Shiva ratri, this mantra can be chanted any time any where but with faith.

ॐ त्र्यम्बकं यजामहे,
सुगन्धिमं पुष्टिवर्धनम
उर्वारुकमिव बंधनान्मृत्योर्मुक्षीय

Meaning:

Aum: Monosyllable representation of Brahman
Trayambakam : Three eyed Lord Siva. ( Pronounce Tra as 'T' as in thirst and 'ra' as in Trapeze)


Yajamahe: Worshipping
Sugandhim: Full of fragrance
Pushtivardhanam: Lord Siva who bestows good health (Pusti) and immortality.
Urvaru: Cucumber
Urvarukamiva Bandhanat : Cucumber is liberated from the creeper
Mrityu : Death
Muksheeya: Liberate from the cycle
Ma: Me
Amrit: Ambrosia necessary for immortality.

Together it means: Aum, I bow down to three eyed Lord Shiva,Who is full of fragrance and bestows on us good health, like the cucumber even though it is liberated from the bondage to the creeper and it remains fresh! May he also free me from the bondage to this cycle of births and deaths and destow on me the immortality!
