Beyond Shasrara

ॐ नमः शिवाय।

Beyond Shasrara……

After Shasrara, that is the thousand petal inverted lotus, the spiritual journey continues beyond shasrara, it continues towards the Brahma-Randhra (The Brahma's hole)

Bhagwan, the literary meaning is owner of the hole, so we call one who owns this hole as Bhagwan, and hence all those men or women who realize this hole become the owner of this hole, hence they should also be called Bhagwan, but there are physical and mental symptoms when someone even takes the first step on his/her own or is put on this path due to past sadhana, :-) so careful before anyone claims anything, particularly the parrots. :-)

e.g.

When a man takes he first step away from his normal (Pingala Nadi) into the Ida nadi, as the Swathisthana chakra to Anahatha Chakra is under the maya of the feminine divinity, through the Ida Nadi, they develop breasts, and other feminine qualities and as long as they remain with in this maya circle they continue to remain so, it only changes when one crosses the Anahatha Chakra in to the Vissudha Chakra, when for Men the Masculinity returns, and for women which is very rare, If they cross the Anahatha Chakra they loose their feminine qualities and turn more masculine, as the world above Vissudha Chakra is all Musculine, even their voice should turn more masculine. (This is still under study, so please do not jump to conclusion and suffer for nothing. :-))

Which also means the one who has settled in the Agnya Chakra, will loose the craving for the opposite sex and see himself as Ardha Nareshwari, because the life forces, and other energies are all flowing through all the three nadi's, This place is also called Varanasi, where all thoughts end rather are burned to ashes.

So humans can become a "Bhagwan", many times you must have heard Bhagwan Rajneesh, Bhagwan Sai, etc. which is all right, but point to note is we are not calling them  Param-atma, because Param-atma is only one, which is Para Brahma, which is even above Jyoti-Swaroop, though a valid discussion to understand Atma-Param Atma is well expected.

Out of 11 holes, this is the tenth hole “Dasama-dvara,” the tenth opening or the tenth door.
Brahma created the physical body and entered (Pravishat) the body to give illumination inside through this Brahma-randhra.

In some of the Upanishads, it is stated:

This is the most important part.

It is very suitable for Nirguna Dhyana (abstract meditation).

When the Yogi separates himself from the physical body at the time of death, this Brahmarandhra bursts open and Prana comes out through this opening (Kapala Moksha).

“A hundred and one are the nerves of the heart.

Of them one (Sushumna) has gone out piercing the head; going up through it, one attains immortality” (Kathopanishad).

When it comes to Dhyana there are symptoms attached to each level of Dhyana, like where your Dhyana is, If it is at Muladhara Chakra, then the symptoms are different and when it is at Agnya chakra then the symptoms are different, and at Shasrara they are very different, and beyond Shasrara yet the symptoms are different.

Based on these symptoms one can know or establish where he has reached or at what level his sadhana has reached and where his Dhyana is.

To explain this phenomenon, trillions and trillions of words have been written from time immemorial, :-) not just in India and in Vedic Sanatana Dharma, but all over the world but yet it is almost impossible to experience it with mere imagination or by gaining knowledge about it from books and scriptures or from well written documents like, by Swami Sivananda Ji, one will have to get down into it and experience it all my themselves.

I would say what life did you live If you did not experience even a fraction of it, If not its fullness.

Shasrara

ॐ नमः शिवाय!

Previous post: Chakras - VI - Agnya Chakra

The energy is Hakini Yogini ( हाकिनी योगिनी),

हाकिनिरुपधारिणी  सहस्रदलपद्मस्था। (The Shakti is present in the Shasrara Crown Lotus in the form of Hakini Yogini).

सर्ववर्णोपशोभिता।

Imagine shasrara as a lotus hanging downwards with its stem beginning from the brahma randhra, the place where shikha is grown and forming the spinal cord.

The Zodiac sign is Capricorn/Pisces.

The Mantra is ॐ.

The Endocrine Glands connected is Pineal gland, melatonin -photoreceptors,
The no of Petals thousands.

The space in here is like a dome, The color is like light.
The area of Knowledge is Super-Conscious.
Shiva's abode, when kundalini reaches here and stays put with out falling down, it begins the cycle of flow of energy.

Swami Sivananda Maharaj Said:

The SAHASRARA is the thousand-petalled lotus at the top of the head and is the
Abode of Lord Siva.

When the Kundalini is awakened, it pierces one Chakra after another and
finally unites with Lord Siva and enjoys the Highest Bliss.

Now the Yogi attains super conscious state and becomes a full-blown ज्ञानी  (Jnani).
He drinks the कुला (Nectar) of Immortality, which drops from the kechari.(The place in the palate of the mouth Just in front of the Uvula).

The Shasrara is always awakened, only the sadhaka has to reach it, hence it is not a chakra, from inside it is a beautiful view, one should see it by themselves, words will not help, use all that energy and effort to control your Mind, Prana and Semen (In case of men).

I am not very sure about women, but there must be something other then just prana to work their way up or down the sushmana/ida/pingala nadi, women is a different technology, for me it is very difficult to understand it for obvious reasons, one thing Uterus is the seat of creation, hence it should either begin from there or end there, If you see YIN and Yang, they are depicted in opposite direction, so in case of women it might be top to bottom instead of bottom to top, I am still trying to understand, so that few serious women sadhak can benefit, because there is no use getting stuck in this examination hall (Earth) for ever, :-) and few people just want to own this examination hall only for their folks who look like them, :-) some because of skin color, some because of caste, some because of relations, and some because of their creed, like billionaires club. :-)

Logic, when a billionaire dies and leaves all his well maintained body, beautiful family and wealth, billions, where does he (Soul) end up ?, this is a point one needs to brood on, :-) they might end up in Haiti, or Yemen, or Syria, Sudan, or Somalia, or Pakistan, or in Saudi as a women, he or she might as well end up as a cow, or a mango tree, all based on their karma baggage, :-) it is not the God who will decide for them, it is them who decide for themselves and they as well might be born to very poor parents in some remote African village, or they might as well be born in the home of that employee who was denied his right to earn, :-) which means there is no use of earning billions and billions and billions, earn and keep what you need to live a dignified life or comfortable life, but the focus, energy and efforts should be towards SELF realization.

Three pointers which decide your next life.

1) Attachment
2) Desires
3) Disgusts (hates included)

If you are stocking billions and billions, you are actually stocking equal amount of rights of other people (souls) who have come to this Earth (Examination centre), the purpose should be to create as many earning centers as possible, this way the good karma which brought you the ability to make billions will be put to good use and you will remain in a good position as far as karma is concerned, because giving is the biggest virtue, it can be anything.

One should make sure they are giving something, Food, Clothes, Shelter, Employment, Money, and the supreme is knowledge.

One Maha Yuga = 12,000 Divine years.

In Satya yuga (4800 Divine years), Doing penance was the main path to reap maximum spiritual benefits.
In Treta Yuga (3600 Divine years), Gaining knowledge was the main path to reap maximum spiritual benefits.
In Dwapara Yuga (2400 Divine years), Performing Yagya karma (Fire oblations) was the main path to reap maximum spiritual benefits.
In Kali Yuga (The current yuga -  1200 Divine years, which commenced Approximately 5200 years ago), Charity is the main path to reap maximum spiritual benefits.

(One Human year = One divine day)

Earth is the crossover point (Pit Stop), lower worlds below the Earth are where Materialists end up, and Upper worlds above the Earth is where the Spiritual beings end up, and Earth is the only crossover point.

An Atheist remains in the lower cycle which is from Earth to the lower worlds, and only way to move upwards is by going spiritual, and as it is very difficult to get a Human body, which is explained in the following Sanskrit Shloka

दुर्लभं  त्रयमेवैतधेवानुग्रह-हेतुकम |

मनुष्यत्वं  मुमुक्षुत्वं  महापुरुषसंश्रयः  ||

Atheists mostly remain stuck in the lower worlds and few who have morals move upwards towards the Earth, but they remain stuck in the lower cycle culminating every time at Earth.

Lower worlds are more materialistic, vanity and material wealth, at the same time they also lack morals, the morals are far lower then even the level of Morals on Earth.

Have a good yoga time.

Sadashiva or Shambunada resides here.
The Granthi Sthana is Rudra Granthi.

Swami Sivananda Maharaj says:

The Agnya Chakra is situated in the Sushumna between the eyebrows, this is also known as Trikuti, this is the seat of the mind, this Chakra has two petals and is a beautiful white colour, he who concentrates on this most excellent Chakra destroys all karmas or actions of the past lives and becomes a Jivanmukta (living liberated sage), he gets all the eight major siddhis and the thirty-two minor siddhis.

The PDF document says:

Ajna Chakra is situated within the Sushumna Nadi and its corresponding centre in the
physical body is at the space between the two eye-brows.

This is known as Trikuti. The presiding deity, Paramasiva (Shambhu), is in the form of Hamsa.

There is Goddess सकिनी  (Sakti}. Pranava ॐ  is the Bijakshara for this Chakra.

This is the seat of the mind.

There are two petals (Yoga Nadis) on each side of the lotus (Chakra) and the vibrations of these Nadis are represented by the Sanskrit letters:— हं   and क्षं .

This is the Granthi Sthana (Rudra Granthi).

The Chakra is of pure white colour or like that of the full moon (on the Purnima day). Bindu, Nada and Sakti are in this Chakra.

He who concentrates at this centre destroys all the Karmas of the past lives.

The benefits that are derived by meditation on this Chakra cannot be described in words. The practitioner becomes a Jivanmukta (liberated man while living).

He acquires all the 8 major and 32 minor Siddhis. All Yogis and Jnanis too concentrate to this centre on the Bijakshara, Pranava!(OM).

This is called Bhrumadya Drishti (gaze at the space between the two eye-brows).

EIGHT MAJOR SIDDHIS

An accomplished, Purnayogi in the path of Kundalini Yoga is in possession of eight major
Siddhis, viz., Anima, Mahima, Laghima, Garima, Prapti, Prakamya, Vasitvam and Ishitvam.

1. Anima:

The Yogi can become as minute as he pleases.

his body assume a very large size. He can fill up the whole universe. He can assume a Virat
Svarupa.

3. Laghima:

He can make his body as light as cotton or feather. Vayustambhanam is done
through this Siddhi.

In Jalastambhanam also the power is exercised to a very small degree.
The body is rendered light by Plavini Pranayama.
The Yogi produces a diminution of his specific gravity by swallowing large draughts of air. The Yogi travels in the sky with the help of this Siddhi.
He can travel thousands of miles in a moment.

By some writers it is defined to be the power of entering body of another (Parakaya Pravesh).
Sri Sankara entered the body of Raja Amaruka of Benares.
Tirumular in Southern India entered the body of a shepherd.
Raja Vikramaditya also did this.
It is also the power of keeping a youth-like appearance for any length of time.
Raja Yayati had this power.

Chakras - V - Visuddha Chakra

ॐ नमः शिवाय!

Previous post: Chakras - IV - Anahata Chakra

Visuddha Chakra

The Mandala is Ether otherwise called as Akash Mandala.
The Zodiac sign is Gemini,
The ManTra is हं.  (Small difference, in Tibet it is अं ).

Hindus - Dhayana, (Corruption of the word Dhyana as it moved out of Vedic Civilization)
Chinese - Chan
Japanese - Zen

The Endocrine Glands connected is Thyroid gland.

The no of petals are 16, which are 16 yoga nadis which appear like petals.
अं , आं , इं , ईं , उं , ऊं , ऋं , ऋृं   लृं , लृं  एं , ऐं , ओं   औं   अं  अं ः ,
The space in this Chakra is round, and controls hearing.
The color of this Chakra is smoky purple to blue.
The area of knowledge is Conscious.
The energy is called Yashasvini Yogini.

यशस्विनी  विशुद्धिचक्रनिलया।

Maheswara (Bindurupa) resides here.

Swami Sivananda Maharaj says:

The Visuddha Chakra is situated at the base of the throat with in the Sushumna, its colour is smoky purple and has sixteen petals, concentration on this Chakra enables the yogi to attain the highest success, he does not perish even during the pralaya (great deluge), he gets full knowledge of four Vedas and becomes the knower of the three periods of time (past, present and future), he becomes eloquent, wise, enjoys peace of mind, and it is said that by his yogic powers he can move the three worlds.

In his PDF doc Kundalini Yoga he says:

Vishuddha Chakra is situated within the Sushumna Nadi at the base of the throat,

Kantha-Mula Sthana.

This corresponds to Jana Loka. It is the centre of Akasa Tattva (ether element).

The Tattva is of pure blue colour. Above this, all other Chakras belong to Manas Tattva.
The presiding deity is Sadasiva (Isvara Linga), the energy is
यशस्विनी  विशुद्धिचक्रनिलया।

From this centre emanate 16 Yoga Nadis which appear like the petals of a lotus.

The vibrations that are produced by the Nadis are represented by the 16 vowels of Sanskrit,

अं , आं , इं , ईं , उं , ऊं , ऋं , ऋृं   लृं , लृं  एं , ऐं , ओं   औं   अं  अं ः ,

Akasa Mandal (the region of ether) is round in shape like the full moon.

The Bija of Akasa Tattva हं  is in this centre. It is of white colour.

The concentration on the Tattva of this Chakra is called Akasa Dharana.

He who practises this Dharana will not perish even in Pralaya. He attains the highest success.

He gets the full knowledge of the four Vedas by meditating on this Chakra. He becomes a Trikala Jnani (who knows the past, the present and the future).

And we already know that during dream state the Mind resides in the throat and the possible reason why during dreaming state we are able to move around from past to present to future events.

In the waking state ,the mind resides in the Agnya chakra,
In the dreaming state, the mind resides in the Vishuddha throat,
In the deep sleep state, the mind resides in the Anahata  Chakra, which means it resides with the SELF, which is why one does not remember anything about it, only effect is you get up very fresh, energetic and bouncing with good health and vibes.
In the fourth state, which is also called Turiya, one can clearly see the two, the body sleeping and the awake SELF.

The challenge is what you experience during Turiya state, If you can experience it in your deep sleep state.

There are other states beyond Turiya but they are beyond the Vishuddha Chakra level.

The color of this Chakra is Deep Red to Green,
The area of Knowledge is Conscious.
The Energy is called Dakini Yogini ( डाकिनी  योगिनी)

डाकिनीश्वरी  अनाहतब्जनिलया।

Tryambakeshwara resides here.
Granthi Sthana- Vishnu Granthi.

Swami Sivananda Maharaj says:

The ANAHATA CHAKRA is located in the Sushumna in the region of the heart.
It is of deep red colour and has twelve petals.

The Anahata sound, the sound of Shabda-brahman, is heard at this centre.
You can clearly hear this sound if you concentrate silently at this lotus.
He who concentrates on this Chakra gets full control over air.
He can fly in the air, enter the body of another and become prosperous.
He becomes wise and does only noble deeds.
He gets cosmic love and all other divine virtues.

In his Pdf document Kundalini Yoga says:

Anahata Chakra is situated in the Sushumna Nadi,  It has control over the
heart.

The Chakra is of deep red colour.
Within this Chakra there is a hexagonal space of smoke or deep black colour or the colour of collyrium (used for the eyes).
This chakra is the centre of Vayu Mandal (region of air, Vayu Tattva).
From here 12 Yoga Nadis emanate. The sound that is produced by each Nadi is represented by the Sanskrit letters.
The Bijakshara यं , the Bija of Vayu, is here.
The presiding deity is Isha (Rudra) and Devata is Kakini.
In the Muladhara Chakra there is Svayambhu Linga and in Anahata Chakra we have Bana Linga.

Kalpa Vriksha, which gives all the desired things, is here.

Anahata sound, the sound of Shabda Brahman, is heard at this centre. When you do Sirshasana for a long time, you can distinctly hear this sound. Vayu Tattva is full of Sattva Guna. Vishnu Granthi is in this Sthana.

He who meditates on this Chakra has full control over Vayu Tattva.

He gets Bhuchari Siddhi, Khechari Siddhi, Kaya Siddhi etc. flying in air, entering the body of another.
He gets cosmic love and all other divine sattvic qualities.

Anahata Sounds:

Anahata sounds are the mystic sounds heard by the Yogis during their meditation.

Some students can clearly hear it through any one of the ears and some by both the ears, there are loud as well as subtle sounds, from the loud, one will have to contemplate on the subtle and from subtle to the subtler sounds.

Beginners can hear the sound only when the ears are closed.

Advanced students can concentrate on the Anahata sound even with out closing the ears.
They emanate from the Anahata centre of the Sushmna Nadi.

Sit in your usual Asana.

Close the ears with the thumbs.
Hear and minutely observe the
internal sound through the ears.

The sound that you hear from within will make you deaf to all external sounds.
Close the eyes also.
In the beginning of your practice, you will hear many loud sounds. Later on they are heard in a mild way.
The mind having at first concentrated itself on any one sound fixes firmly to that and is absorbed in it.
The mind becoming insensible to the external impressions, becomes one with the sound as milk with water and then becomes rapidly absorbed in Chidakasa.
Just as the bee drinking the honey alone does not care for the odour so also the Chitta, which is always absorbed in the inner sound, does not long for sensual objects, as it is bound by the sweet smell or Nada and has abandoned its flitting nature.

The sound proceeding from Pranava Nada, which is Brahman, is of the nature of effulgence.

The mind gets absorbed in it.

The mind exists so long as there is sound, but with its cessation, there is that state termed Turiya. It is the supreme state.

It is the Unmani state.

The mind gets absorbed along with Prana by constant concentration upon Nada.

The body appears to be a log of wood and it does not feel heat or cold, joy or sorrow. Different kinds of sounds proceed from the heart (Anahata sounds).

Nada that is heard through the ears is of ten kinds and there are corresponding physical effects with each sound, it is not necessary that all sadhak's will experience all the sounds, some may jump directly to various levels, and some might remain stuck at certain level.

The first is the sound ‘Chrini’ (like the pronunciation of the word); Body tries to copy it,

The second is ‘Chrini-chrini’ - Body shrinks, people loose lot of weight, fat, muscles etc,
The third is the sound of a bell.Severe tiredness, exhaustion happens, dryness of mouth,
The fourth is that of a conch, Severe headache it is like head will explode. :-)
The fifth is that of a lute. Excess salivation, water flows out of mouth.
The sixth is the sound of cymbals or claps, Saliva turns into Nectar, or Elixir, body gets nourishment.
The seventh is the tune of a flute, Knowledge of hidden,
The eighth is the voice of a drum (Dhol or Bheri); Mastery in Vani (Sound), Clear Divine visions.
The ninth is the sound of a double-drum (Mridanga); Power to Travel,
And the tenth is the sound of thunder. Ultimate state...There is no separate mind, thoughts, actions, or any duality exists, everything becomes one.

You cannot expect the sound immediately after you close your ears. You should concentrate and keep your mind one-pointed.

( I hear these sounds when my right or left ear is pinned against the pillow, and as I immerse myself in them suddenly I hear songs, which are classical Hindustani to karnataka style classical to plain light music, then to drums, Double drums, Mridanga, and finally it is like standing near some water falls etc.)

The description given above is Laya through Nada, Anahata sound. In the same manner,
Laya can be effected by concentration at the tip of the nose (Nasikagra Drishti), at the space between the two eyebrows (Bhrumadhya Drishti), meditation on the five Tattvas, on Soham Mantra.
