Sade Sati- Kantaka Sani - ( 7,1/2 years of Saturn)

ॐ श्री गुरावे नमः !

Sade Sati! when informed by an astrologer, a chill runs down the spine of the native, because Saturn is known for his rigorous punishments and disciplining acts, and fortunately for us humans it comes at least three times in a life time.

When Sani/Saturn transits/moves into the 12th sign/house from the Natal Chandra/Moon Sade Sati ( 7,1/2) period of Sani/Saturn is initiated and it stays for 2, 1/2 years in that house, major effects are on domestic life, relations, and all those things will be effected which are connected with the 12th house, next step is Sani/Saturn transits into the First sign/house from Chandra/Moon, here again it stays for 2,1/2 years and the major effects here are on general life on the Native, reputation, finance, life sustaining abilities fall asunder, then Sani/Saturn transits into the 2nd sign/house from Chandra/Moon, here the main effects are and financial losses and danger from Government action.

Intensity of the effect would be increased many folds if, Chandra/Moon is posited with the Lagna, and the effects would be same as Chandra/Moon if Sani/Saturn transits into 12th from the Lagna also, many people might not agree with it, but it is very likely the effects would be the same, again the main important ting controlling it would be the strength and position of Sani/Saturn.

Sade sati or 7 1/2 years period of Saturn comes at least three times in a life time, the first time mostly effects natives parents, the second time it effects native in his education or profession, the third time it effects mostly his health, and profession.

Sani/Saturn's other form as disciplinarian, is Kantaka Sani: Kantaka means like Thorn.
Whenever Saturn Transits on the 1st, 4th, 7th or 10th from the Chandra/Moon, Lagna/Ascendant or Arudha Lagna (AL), such transit is called Kantaka Sani, as the name suggests the life of the Native should turn like falling into a pit full of thorns.

Intensity of Damage by Kantaka Shani - 10th house, 7th house, 4th house and 1st house, in decreasing order.

There are many various thoughts and views about Sade Sati, the effects of Sade Sati are mild for some and fatal for some, and for some it might prove to be a boon, it all depends on the position and auspiciousness of Chandra/Moon and Sani/Saturn, each 2, 1/2 years period of Sani/Saturn in each Rasi/Sign/house is called Dhaiya, and in one Sade Sati cycle there are three dhaiya's, the second dhaiya effects more, exceptions are if the second dhaiya occurs in Libra (Saturn is exalted here), Capricorn, (Saturn own's this house) Aquarius (Moolatrikona of Saturn) at the same time if the second dhaiya is in Aries ( Saturn is debilitated in this house) then the effects are very fatal. Or If Sani/Saturn is Yogakaraka, the effects are minimal etc.

I feel otherwise, Stronger the Sani/Saturn, fatal will be the Sade sati effects, and weaker the Sani/Saturn, minimal will be the Sade sati effects. If Sani/Saturn is Atmakaraka or If Sani Mahadasa is running, the Sade sati effects will be very Fatal.

Reason: We have to take the past births also in to consideration, a soul has to go through many cycles of birth and death before it is pure (Free from load of bad karma) enough to enter a human soul, and again in this stage, it has to purify itself to reach higher levels of human existence and finally towards the final emancipation or liberation, and this is not possible without going through the fire, and the fire is made available by Grah like Saturn, every soul gets Sani/Saturn as a Atmakaraka but only after many human births, It is like a Final examination, If the soul passes this test, it moves ahead towards liberation in this birth or the next following birth, but if it fails, it moves back in the order of other Grah's/planets, the cycle begins again. how it works, Sani forces the native so hard that native is left with no option but look towards the sky, and turn spiritual, all people who had a hard Sade Sati, did turn and do turn spiritual, and this is the whole purpose of Sani/Saturn being hard on the native, the purification process starts, which if followed with determination will lead to liberation or final emancipation.

When a native is not ready for the final examination the native will never take birth with strong Saturn, he or she always will have weak Saturn, A strong Sani/Saturn also suggests that the native is ready for final emancipation, it sounds like Final examination.

When a child enters school, he starts his education but to test his knowledge the school conducts three examinations, quarterly, half yearly and final examination at least in India,(Canada the system is different), and out of all exams the half yearly exam is most dreadful to most of the children, because at that time most of them are not serious and the paper mostly appears tough, same situation on this arena called earth, it is like the school and the Grah Sani/Saturn the head master of examinations, he comes at least three times to test, Where we are standing? and How we are doing?.

Depending on our previous exam results, the next paper is set, and then follows the punishment.

Every time Sani/Saturn is in Retrograde motion, it is recording time, every event and every action of the native is recorded for further assessment, the awards from Sani/Saturn are also great, most people have won great accolades due  to Sani/Saturn, Sani deva is a devotee of Lord Krishna.

Small story: There was this good natured and humble priest, who lived for the people and the society, in his entire life he had hardly commited a sin, even thoughts are as pure as dew, he worked as a priest in a temple, but Sani/Saturn has to do his duty, so one day Sani deva/Saturn appears and informs the priest that it is time for him for some punishment, the priest is surprised and says" Hey deva ! I do not remember having committed any crime or sin, but if you say so, you must be right, what is the punishment for me, Saturn says, 'yes', your record is impeccable but still you deserve 7 ,1/2 minutes of stress and tension for your sins, that is your punishment.

Priest thinks ok it is just 7 1/2 minutes only, and he rests and continues with his routine.

One fine day, the priest who happens to open the temple everyday falls little sick and sleeps little longer, meanwhile the temple manager reaches the temple and opens the door and to his astonishment he finds the golden crown of the deity missing, he runs out shouting theft! theft! theft!.

The whole town becomes tense and they reach priests house and inquire about the crown, the priest pleads not guilty, but the manager says: 'No!', He is the last one to leave the temple so it is him, he is the thief and follows meaningless insults from impatient crowd, for 7 1/2 minutes priest goes through the tension and confusion, it appears like his mind has been taken over by some power, after that the priest's mind starts working again, he tells the manager to check the place properly, they all go back to the temple and search for the crown, and they all find the crown neatly placed behind the deity, priest takes a sigh of relief, the manager feels extremely bad for his behaviour and for insulting the priest.

Now decide based on your own record, how many minutes of such tension and punishment we deserve, one thing is sure Saturn will not appear to tell us our record, the punishment will sure arrive with out intimation. but Astrology and little knowledge of your own Horoscope chart can actually save you from great peril, one can actually prepare oneself to face those hardships for 7 1/2 years and also for forth coming Kantaka Sani.

e.g.

A person never gave much attention or sat for few minutes to open his heart in front of a deity, and his wife almost every day devotes little of her time to sing or chant praises of God, both get Sade Sati at the same time, The person goes through such a hard time that he runs to every temple and God for help, but the women flows through that period like nothing happened, so what made this difference, is it the auspiciousness of their respective Moon's and Sani/Saturn, may be little but the main reason is the Spiritual funds of the person, his spiritual savings account was empty and her account was having enough spiritual funds to substantiate in that hard time, so dear folks, open a Spiritual savings account immediately, does not matter to which religion, sect you belong and to which deity/saint you offer your devotion, do it at least as a routine and make it a recurring savings account, save your spiritual funds for the future. ;-)

So how it works, when Saturn is in 12th house, the house of loss, Saturn increases the size of the hole through which the loss takes place, the native is bound to loose all those things attached with the sign in his/her natal chart, and also those things which 12th house is connected with, then the Saturn moves to the sign with Chandra/Moon, but if this house also has Ascendant then the effects might be more harsher, it will effect the general life, income, job, health, relations, fame or reputation etc., then the last 2 1/2 years, the second house from Chandra/Moon and if Ascendant is also present with Chandra/Moon, then the money, health, wealth, assets all will vanish, if not careful.

Check the Astakavarga chart for the number of points Sani/Saturn has in these signs, the general opinion is, If points are 4 or less than 4, the effects will be harsh and if the points are 5 or more, then the effects might be mild.

As Sani/Saturn rules materialism, it is Sani/Saturn alone who will award with material success.

The things will ease out once Saturn moves into the Third house from Moon, normally this time is rewarding time, the rewards will come based on the report card generated during the 7 1/2 years, and how the native dealt with his tensions, stress and problems, did he/she open a spiritual savings account and how much did they save in that account etc.
Then comes Kantaka sani, :-))

Once Saturn/Sani descends on Shivaloka and informs lord Shiva that it is time he take Lord Shiva in his influence, Lord Shiva is disturbed , How can a Graha effect me, I am the mighty Shiva, so to avoid Saturn, Lord Shiva goes deep into earth and hides himself in a very secluded and dark place with cobwebs and dirt.

The day passes without any incident, Lord shiva returns to his abode and calls Saturn to ask," What happened why didn't you influence me yesterday as it was your duty, did you fail in your duty", he expresses this with a smile.

Saturn: responds, well Deva (God) it was my influence which made you run and hide in such a dirty and secluded place, other wise tell me why would you even care to go there.

Lord Shiva is stunned!

Moral: If Lord Shiva is not free from effect of Graha, how can we be free, it is a part of the game on this arena called Earth, take it easy and live your life, but do not forget to pray lord Hanuman ji or Lord Shiva to reduce the effects, the Prayer works like Pain killer.

Suggestion:

Native going through the Sade Sati should devote time to appease Lord Krishna, and surrender himself/herself to Lord Krishna, every thing floats away, but if the native resists and tries his free will, the challenge will continue to grow till he falters, so easy, surrender yourself to Lord Krishna and if possible chant Sani Stotram. there are many remedies suggested by Sage Paracara but again one need to see carefully the horoscope for most suitable remedy, the best get the master key, Lord Krishna. everything will float away, Trust me!:-).

Few remedies:

Real Education -Swami Sivanandaji Maharaj

Our present-day schools and colleges give secular education। There is neither ethical discipline nor spiritual instruction. The students have no spiritual, high ideas of life. They learn something in order to eke out their livelihood. They study only to get high salaries. This is very sad indeed. That is the reason why they turn out to be spiritual bankrupts in the end.

Owing to the influence of dark, antagonistic, materialistic forces most of the students of the present day become irreligious। There is no moral culture in them. They have no understanding of the principles of Brahmacharya and right living. Hence they suffer much when they come out to face the battle of life.

Students are pure generally before marriage। As soon as they marry and beget a child, the whole Maya envelops them. They become selfish, greedy and lustful. They lose all their virtuous qualities. Egoism becomes very stiff. There is hankering for money.

This can be obviated if they take to the study of some good religious books on Yoga, Bhakti, Philosophy and Vedanta. The students are the hope and glory of India and of the world at large. They are the bulwarks of the state. They should be moulded properly when they are young. The teachers and professors should take up this noble work in right earnest.
Spiritual culture is a sine qua non and a great desideratum for national regeneration.

The goal of life is Self-realisation. Spiritual culture alone can develop the will-force (Atmabala) and make people unselfish, fearless, courageous, strong, and remove Moha (bondage) from the body. Those who are unselfish alone can really serve the country, can work in terms of unity and can have real cosmic love for all (Visva Prem).

Education should teach the pupils to love God and man. Education should instruct the students to be truthful, moral, fearless, humble and merciful. Education should teach the students to practise right conduct, right thinking, right living, right action and self-sacrifice and to attain knowledge of the Self.

Education aims at cultivating good ideas and expressing them in a beautiful, intelligible manner after clarifying them, with scientific or mathematical accuracy.

Sattvic Ahara or wholesome good food rich in vitamins, or a well-balanced diet, systematic practice of Asanas and Pranayama, right living and simple living are the important requisites for the preservation of health and attainment of high standard of vigour and vitality. These are the basic essentials on which the Rishis and Yogins of yore lived a long peaceful life. These are the very fundamentals on which they based the system of Yoga to achieve perfection in health of body and mind. These are the indispensable requisites on which sinking nation must fall back if it wishes to regain her lost glory and divinity.

The real work of all Universities must be to unite man with man. The main purpose of education must be to make man a real man with all divine attributes.

Education must be best calculated to promote plain living and high thinking. Each student must be taught that his first and foremost duty is to attain Self-realisation and to cultivate universal brotherhood.

Educate your eyes to see God in all faces, to behold unity of Self in all beings. Educate your ears to hear the Upanishadic teachings and the sweet melodious Kirtans of Lord Hari. Educate your tongue to sing the praise of the Lord and to utter pleasant, loving and truthful words. Educate your hands to do charity and to serve the poor. Educate your mind to be always cheerful and calm and to think of the Immortal Atman. This is real education.

The Gita, the Upanishads, the Ramayana, the Bhagavata, the Mahabharata, Patanjali Yoga Sutras, Brahma Sutras, comparative religion and philosophy must be taught in schools and colleges. Their study must be made compulsory. Practical instructions on ethics, Yoga and meditation, control of mind should be imparted to the students. Study of Sanskrit must be made compulsory. Without the knowledge of Sanskrit, the depths of philosophy cannot be comprehended.

One may be a very able judge, another may be a world-renowned surgeon or physician or eye-specialist, a third may be a reputed scientist and a fourth may be a world figure in the art of poetry. All these persons may lack in spiritual behaviour. Behaviour in spiritual field is different from behaviour in worldly parlance. Worldly behaviour is artificial and composed of etiquette and worldly manners. What is called etiquette or manners in worldly parlance is mere show. It is something of a physical drill. It consists of movement of certain parts of the body or some artificial gestures or artificial smiles and laughter without any real mental or ethical discipline or moral culture on spiritual basis, without any understanding of the existence of one supreme soul in all beings. It is best calculated to gain some material ends by pleasing another for the time being. It is a sort of mind cunningness with a tinge of diplomacy to attain one’s selfish ends.

It changes very often. When he fails to realise his material gain, his behaviour changes at once. He becomes quite a different man. He separates and divides. He sees differences everywhere. Whereas, the behaviour of a real aspirant or spiritual man is unchanging and is marked by nobility, pure love, humility, forbearance, patience, forgiveness, mercy, spirit of service, self-sacrifice and disinterestedness. He understands and knows that one Immortal Self abides in all creatures.

The spiritual or divine behaviour can hardly be learnt in Universities or colleges. It is a rare moral discipline that can only be learnt by the thirsting or hungry aspirant by serving the real spiritual preceptor wet with Bhakti or devotion for some years.

Dear Prem, study diligently. Apply tenaciously. Behave politely. Obey implicitly. Pray whole-heartedly. Sing melodiously. Speak sweetly. Eat slowly. Walk gently. Stick resolutely. Think usefully. Act righteously. Endure courageously. Persevere patiently. March boldly.

Concentrate attentively. Meditate seriously. Realise quickly. God be with you. Peace be with you.

The Devas, (Demi Gods) the Asuras (Demons)and the men received education under Prajapati. They learnt the triad of self-restraint, liberality and mercy. This is real education.
Indra remained as a student under Prajapati and learnt that the soul is immortal, self-luminous and distinct from the waking, dreaming and deep-sleep states that the individual soul is identical with the supreme Soul. This is real education.

Saunaka approached his teacher Rishi Angiras and learnt that this Atman or the Self is to be verily obtained by the continual practice of truth, penance, perfect knowledge and abstinence. This is real education.

Narada was a student under Sanat kumara and learnt that the Infinite is bliss, that there is no bliss in anything finite and that one should wish to understand the Infinite. This is real education.

Uddalaka taught Svetaketu: "That which is the subtle essence. The root of all that exists has its Self; That is the Self; That is the Truth; That thou art, O Svetaketu". This is real education.

Instead of learning many sciences, try to know the one Adhyatmic Science, the science of sciences, the supreme science of the highest Self or Atman. Then you will know everything.
Brahman is Sat. Brahman is Existence. Brahman is the root for the world, body and mind.

Direct knowledge of the root through intuitive perception will bring knowledge of everything, knowledge of all worldly sciences.

"Brahma vidyam sarva vidya pratishtham" Mund. Upanishad.

The Sruti emphatically declares: "In the beginning there was only Sat, one without a second.

Ekam sat vipra bahuda vadanti

Existence is one. Sages call it by different names."

Learn the principles of divine life and apply them to daily conduct in life. Become a practical man in the spiritual path. Enough of idle talking.

May we hear with our ears or see with our eyes nothing but what is pure so that with our senses unperturbed, remembering God, meditating on Him, singing His praise, we may attain life as that of the Gods. Rishis of yore sing like this along with their students before starting their class lessons. What do you find now in schools and colleges? I need not tell you much. Is this not a deplorable state? Will the Professors and Headmasters set matters aright immediately?

The Principals and Professors of colleges, Headmasters of the High Schools must be guided by learned and realised Sannyasins and Yogins. Then only real education can be imparted to students. If students who are equipped with real education come out of the Universities of India every year, we will have a glorious New India and a new era of peace, plenty and prosperity.

A Sadhu or a Sannyasin should be requested to stay in every college hostel. He should give daily lessons to the students on ethical and spiritual culture and practical training in meditation and worship. He should teach them Gita, Bhagavata, Ramayana and Upanishads. Then only they will be properly moulded and will possess good character. The condition of the boys is deplorable at the present moment. They have lost faith in God and in the Holy Scriptures. They have become irreligious.

May we all be endowed with true knowledge and real education. May the world be filled with real educated persons. May the Universities, schools and colleges become dynamic centres of real education and culture. May you all understand the real purpose of education and the goal of life. May the heads of educational institutions possess right understanding and divine knowledge to guide the students in the right path. May you all enjoy the supreme bliss of the Eternal!

Finger Prints and Patterns

ॐ श्री गुरावे नमः !

One very interesting fact in reading palms is the finger prints and what they tell about a person, and to get these prints use a roller with black or blue ink and press against a white paper।
e.g. 1
e.g. 2

These were prepared by my children, so the prints taken by an adult would be much better

FINGER PRINTS:

WHORLS : Individualistic, talented, very focussed and are good at keeping secrets.

Plain Whorl

whorls can be plain, double looped, pocketed etc, check all the fingers for these whorls, and if found would mean individualistic in that sphere of life, if 5 or more than 5 are found out of ten fingers, the person sure leans towards individualitic ideals. A whorl in the Apollo finger is very good one, native is bound to reach very high levels in the social circles, that is fame and authority. A whorl in the lowest phalange of the Apollo finger enhances the intutive abilities.

ARCH : Suspicious, difficult to convince, good for trade work and are very hard working types.

Other form of Arch is Tented Arch. People with these kind of prints tend to go very deep in anything they do.

LOOPS : Public person, very good communication skills, large friend circles, all round capabilities.

COMPOSITE PRINT : All types of prints are present in the finger, Whorl, loop and Arch in one finger, not very common, ethereal minds, sometimes very difficult to deal with.

E.g , Finger Prints of Author of this blog.

These prints were taken in few seconds, they are good for a palmist, but for the purpose of creating a file, I doubt,;-) then they have to be scanned.

eg 3

But to read the minor lines of a hand, a black or blue ink print is the best.

More to follow........

Let the water flow at the altar while chanting continously ring the bell.

Meaning: Vishnu - Sooktam.

This universe is the Eternal Being (Narayana), the imperishable, the supreme, the goal, multi-headed and multi-eyed (i.e., omnipresent and omniscient), the resplendent, the source of delight for the whole universe.

Note:- With this verse commences a famous hymn of the Vedic group, stating the characters of the Absolute in its manifestation as this creation. This universe is the Supreme Being (Purusha) alone; hence it subsists on That, the Eternal which transcends it (in every way) - the Omnipresent Absolute which destroys all sins .

The protector of the universe, the Lord of all souls (or Lord over Self), the petpetual, the auspicious, the indestructible, the Goal of all creation, the Supreme object worthy of being known, the Soul of all beings, the Refuge unfailing (is He).

The Lord Narayana is the Supreme Absolute; Narayana is the Supreme Reality; Narayana is the Supreme Light; Narayana is the Supreme Self; Narayana is the Supreme Meditator; Narayana is the Supreme Meditation.

Whatever all this universe is - seen or heard of - pervading all this from inside and outside alike, stands supreme the Eternal Divine Being (Narayana).

He is the Limitless, Imperishable, Omniscient, residing in the ocean of the heart, the Cause of the happiness of the universe, the Supreme End of all striving, (manifesting Himself) in the ether of the heart which is comparable to an inverted bud of the lotus flower.

Below the Adam's apple, at a distance of a span, and above the navel (i.e., the heart which is the relative seat of the manifestation of Pure consciousness in the human being), effulges the Great Abode of the universe, as if adorned with garlands of flames.

Surrounded on all sides by nerve-currents (or arteries), suspends the lotusbud of the heart in an inverted position. In it is a subtle space (a narrow aperture, the Sushumna-Nadi), and therein is to be found the Substratum of all things.

In that space within the heart resides the Great Flaming Fire, undecaying, all-knowing, with tongues spread out in all directions, with faces turned everywhere, consuming all food presented before it, and assimilating it into itself.

His rays, spreading all round, side ways as well as above and below, warm up the whole bodv from head to foot. In the Centre of That (Flame) abides the Tongue of Fire as the topmost among all subtle things.

Note:- Due to the attachments and entanglement of the Jiva in worldly enjoyment and suffering, the Consciousness is enshrouded in potential as well as expressed objectivity, and hence it appears like a tiny streak of flame within the dark clouds of ignorance. But when the Jiva rises above worldliness the Consciousness is realised as the Infinite.

Brilliant like a streak of lightning set in the midst of the blue rain-bearing clouds, slender like the awn of a paddy grain, yellow (like gold) in colour, in subtlety comparable to the minute atom, (this Tongue of Fire) glows splendid.

In the Middle of That Flame, the Supreme Self dwells. This (Self) is Brahma (the Creator), Siva (the Destroyer), Hari (the Protector), Indra (the Ruler, the Imperishable, the absolute, the Autonomous Being.

Prostrations again and again to the Omni Formed Being, the Truth, the Law, the Supreme Absolute, the Purusha of blue-decked yellow hue, the Centralised-Forced Power, the All-Seeing One.
We commune ourselves with Narayana; and meditate on Vasudeva; May that Vishnu direct us (to the Great Goal).

Aum Peace! Peace! Peace!

ॐ नमः शिवाय !

ॐ श्री महा गणपतये नमः पुरुषसुक्तां स्नानं समर्पयामि

ॐ श्री महा गणपतये नमः महा अभिषेक स्नानं समर्पयामी

Meaning : PURUSHA-SUKTA

Thousand-headed is the Purusha, thousand-eyed and thousand-legged. Enveloping the earth from all sides, He transcends it by ten fingers' length.

Note:- This is the first Mantra of the Purusha Sukta of the Veda. Here the transcendent totality of all creation is conceived as the Cosmic Person, the Universal Consciousness animating all manifestation.

The word 'earth' is to be understood in the sense of all creation. 'Dasangulam' is interpreted as ten fingers' length, in which case it is said to refer to the distance of the heart from the navel, the former having been accepted as the seat of the Atma and the latter symbolic of the root of manifestation. The word ten is also said to mean 'infinity', as numbers are only up to nine and what is above is regarded as numberless.
All this (manifestation) is the Purusha alone - whatever was and whatever will be. He is the Lord of Immortality, for He transcends all in His Form as food (the universe). Such is His Glory; but greater still is the Purusha. One-fourth of Him all beings are, (while) three-fourth of Him rises above as the Immortal Being.
That, Three-footed (Immortal) Purusha stood above transcending (all things), and His one foot was this (world of becoming). Then He pervaded (everything) universally, the conscious as well as the unconscious. From That (Supreme Being) did the Cosmic Body (Virat) originate, and in this Cosmic Body did the Omnipresent Intelligence manifest itself. Having manifested Himself, He, appeared as, all diversity, and then as this earth and this body.

When (there being no external material other than the Purusha) the Devas performed a universal sacrifice (in contemplation by mind), with the Purusha Himself as the sacred offering, the spring season was the clarified butter, summer the fuel, autumn the oblation. They set up for sacrifice the Purusha as the object in their meditation, Him who was, prior to all creation, and they, the Devas, Sadhyas and Rishis, performed (this first sacrifice).

From that (Purusha), who was of the form of a Universal Sacrifice, the sacred mixture of curds and ghee (for oblation) was produced. (Then) He brought forth the aerial beings, the forest-dwelling animals, and also the domestic ones. From that (Purusha), who was the Universal Sacrifice, the Riks and the Samans were produced; from Him the metres (of the Mantras) were born; from Him the Yajus was born.

From Him were born horses and whatsoever animals have two rows of teeth. Verily, cows were born of Him; from Him were born goats and sheep. And when they contemplated the Purusha (as the Universal Sacrifice), into how many parts did they divide Him (in their meditations)? What was His mouth called, what His arms, what His thighs, what were His feet called?

The Brahmana (spiritual wisdom and splendour) was His Mouth; the Kshatriya (administrative and military prowess) His Arms became. His Thighs the Vaisya (commercial and business enterprise) was; of His Feet the Sudra (productive and sustaining force) was born. The Moon (symbol of the mind) was born from His (Cosmic) Mind; the Sun (symbol of self and consciousness) was born from His Eyes. Indra (power of grasping and activity) and Agni (will-force) came from His Mouth; from His Vital Energy air was born.

(In that Universal Meditation as Sacrifice) the firmament came from His Navel; the heavens were produced from His head; the earth from His feet; from His ears the quarters of space; - so they constituted the worlds. The enclosures of the sacrificial altar were seven (the seven metres like the Gayatri), and twenty-one (the twelve months, the five seasons, the three worlds and the sun) were the logs of sacrificial fuel, when the gods (the Pranas, senses and the mind) celebrated the universal sacrifice with the Supreme Purusha as the object of contemplation there in.

By sacrifice (universal meditation) did the gods adore and perform (visualize) the sacrifice (Universal Being). These were the original creations and the original laws (that sustain creation). Those great ones (the worshippers of the Cosmic Being by this type of meditation) attain that Supreme Abode in which abide the, primeval contemplators (the gods mentioned above) who thus worshipped that Being.
I know this Great Purusha who shines like the sun beyond darkness. By knowing Him alone does one cross beyond death; there is no other way of going over there.

ॐ नमः शिवाय!
